In-House Attorney

Make an impact at a dynamic and growing life sciences company. Invicro seeks an in-house Attorney to support the Commercial Affairs department with all aspects of commercial contracting.   



Invicro, a Konica Minolta Company, is a Contract Research Organisation (CRO) focused on all aspects of imaging as they apply to drug development. The Legal function is a part of the Commercial Affairs department, and this role will focus on providing support to all aspects of commercial contracting with sponsors, strategic partners, suppliers, etc.

Working with the Director of Legal Affairs, and a variety of externally-facing teams, this is a high profile role with strong growth potential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The key responsibility will be taking ownership for all Legal aspects of commercial opportunities, encompassing drafting, review and negotiation, of commercial agreements.
  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely advice on legal topics relevant to the contracting process in our industry.
  • Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and develop Legal templates and databases to ensure all material remains updated and is complaint with legal and regulatory standards, whilst best protecting Invicro’s interests.
  • Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors as required.
  • Designing and delivering basic commercial legal training to the business.
  • Supports business department with managing the execution cycle of contractual documents.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation relevant to Invicro and our industry.
  • Liaising with senior members of staff as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law
  • Excellent negotiating and drafting skills
  • Ability to write compelling solution proposals in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across the business.
  • Superior editing, proofreading, and writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage the contracting process, from defining the solution and response strategy, to managing and reconciling input from subject matter experts, and driving negotiations along efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with ability to learn independently, proactively search for information, and able to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively works autonomously under pressure and takes responsibility to ensure that plans are delivered to budget and time.
  • Experience working in a cross-matrixed organization with remote team members.  

Experience and Education:

  • Juris Doctor degree with license to practice in at least one state.
  • Ideally 3-5 years’ experience as an in-house lawyer in a commercial setting.
  • Healthcare/Biotechnology industry experience in a service organization would be advantageous.
  • Experience with privacy law is preferred, but not required.
