Overview:

The VP of Software is responsible for the overall technical and operational management of Invicro’s Software business unit, reporting to the CTO. This role at Invicro is a cross-functional leadership position, providing oversight of the Engineering, Product Management, Professional Services, and Support teams, and internal interaction with our imaging core lab, IT, Business Development, and System Compliance teams. In addition, the VP is a point of escalation for any customer issues.

Developing a thorough understanding of Invcro’s market, customer base, competitors and products is a requirement for success in the role, as is a collaborative approach to internal leadership by influence. Prior experience managing both engineering teams and a software business will also strongly contribute to success in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the Software business unit, including: Product Management, Engineering (including DevOps and QA), Services and Support
  • P&L management and reporting to CTO/CEO
  • Line management of Invicro’s senior Software team (6 – 8 direct reports, overall team of 35)
  • Manage organizational structure, and functional roles and responsibilities for the Software team
  • Motivate, lead and develop a team of diverse individuals with a variety of experience levels and skill sets
  • Evolve and manage career paths for multi-disciplinary team
  • Manage software project planning and allocation of resources
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external service providers, both on- and off-shore
  • Guide cross-functional teams in an agile environment to evolve Invicro’s products
  • Understand Invicro’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry
  • Communicate product vision and priorities to customers and stakeholders
  • Remove roadblocks to product and engineering goals
  • Manage capacity and cost of all internal and external Software resources

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of engineering and/or product management experience
  • Expert level knowledge and experience in enterprise systems integration and best practices in the context of web/SaaS application development
  • Experience managing engineering teams of 25+ team members both onshore and offshore
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior experience managing software Product and/or Services teams, strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of product and services revenue and licensing models
  • Proven ability to drive the entire software development process from concept, architecture design, development, and QA to deployment of complex web-based applications
