Overview:

Invicro seeks an independent and motivated research scientist to contribute to contract research studies whose primary goal is pre-clinical drug discovery. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out ex vivo and in vitro studies to explore and support target validation and drug development. The scientist in this role will be working hands-on with a diversity of techniques ranging from standard histological staining and microscopy to method development and implementation of novel autoradiography assays.

Responsibilities:

  • Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining
  • Perform antibody optimization, microscopy and interpretation
  • Traditional and method development for autoradiography projects
  • Traditional histology processing, sectioning and staining of frozen and FFPE samples
  • Method development of histology projects on frozen or FFPE samples
  • Digital image capture of tissue sections and slides
  • Working with radioactive samples and compounds
  • Work with rodent, canine, non-human primate, and human tissue samples

Qualifications and Skills:                   

  • BS with at least 5-10 years of experience, MS with 3-5 years of experience, or PhD with 0-3 years of experience
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to independently assess results
  • Optimize IHC/IF antibodies manually and with various automated equipment
  • Skill with microscopy and histology interpretation
  • Ability to multitask work and meet deadlines in an environment of change
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to balance attention to detail while working to deadlines             
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job through mentoring and action
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to independently manage workflow to see projects through from start to completion
