Invicro seeks a Laboratory Assistant for Advanced Pathology Services to support the daily activities of the Boston team to deliver histopathology laboratory services offered by Invicro to internal and external partners. Our laboratory performs high complexity immunohistochemistry and other advanced tissue analysis approaches unique to Invicro.  This individual should enjoy challenging and analytical work and be motivated by the idea that together we can accomplish great things and make a positive contribution to society through our mission. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Compile and maintain all necessary documentation to support lab processes.
  • Prepare and monitor inventories of samples and supplies.
  • Prepares histology project slides, slide labels, and samples lists per specifications.
  • Perform all sample receipt and customer notification.
  • Perform whole slide image capture according to project requirements.              
  • Monitor and record temperatures and other instrumentation quality requirements.
  • Clean, pack and ship slides for completed projects.
  • Clean and maintain routine laboratory equipment to required standards.
  • Help to maintain supply inventory levels, notifying appropriate staff of any requirements, and order materials as requested.
  • Prepares or stocks glassware, reagents, materials, as needed by laboratory staff.
  • Monitors own work to ensure timely completion.


  • An awareness of routine laboratory processes including straight forward tasks including preparing solutions, slide writing, carrying out inventory checks.
  • Clear understanding of the standards required to work in a Histology laboratory
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency with typical software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.                           
  • Clear and concise communication skills

Unique Department Requirements:

  • Comfortable wearing PPE for prolonged periods
  • Able to lift 10-20 lbs
